......... it is going to be really really tough to pick between this and procreate. Even considering how expensive this is, if their watercolor brushes are anything like the ones on desktop...

(Also, CSP is available for mac, too. That's why I use it instead of SAI. It's better than SAI, though.)

edit:

....... two finger tap to undo.
Watercolor brushes are like the desktop version.

This might be the greatest thing that has ever happened in the history of the universe.

Apologies to Wacom, but Apple has officially eclipsed them.

Theybwould have a lot more people buying if it wasn't for the subscription but yeah this burns a hole in wacom and Adobe. Especially Adobe and their BS prices. The 6 month free trial is killer though, and it's better since so many creators have an ipad. I hope they release an android version down the line though, it would be more business for them.

(Teruma from Unicorn Jr., for his birthday)

ahhhhhhhh I missed CSP so much <3<3

++ if you draw at all and can afford it at all, it is definitely a good idea to get an ipad and apple pencil. This was the case already with Procreate, but even more so now with CSP <3<3

I feel sorry for the people who make Procreate, though... ;;

This was my reaction when I first laid eyes on the picture used in the article:

"Oh, this seems to be about Clip Studio Paint ! Let's have a look."

This was my reaction when I read the beginning of the article:

This was my reaction when I read about the subscription fee:

Yep, someone just rained on my parade !!

Don't get me wrong. I think the fact that the BEST drawing and illustration software on the desktop is now native to the iPad is a HUUUGE and amazing deal no matter how you look at it but I fear the subscription fee might put off many potential buyers. I think they should have just priced it the same as they do for the desktop version (or slightly less considering the inferior file system of iOS) even if that is unheard of for iOS apps. I have no doubt in mind that many artists would not hesitate to pay the full one-off price of the desktop version if that means getting their hands on the iPad version.

CELSYS marketing staff, if you are reading this post then please reconsider your pricing approach. Your amazing and talented developers have given you a golden opportunity to dominate the market of tablet drawing software and to dramatically increase your overall drawing software market share so don't waste that opportunity !!
