So basically the 4th game is coming within a year of the 3rd. Makes that maligned ending even more egregious.

I did not know that the PC version added about 50% more voiced dialogue lines. If they can re-release that version for PS4, I may have to double dip, since it is one of the greatest JRPG series ever made. I mean, I love seeing Persona 5 get all this attention (and it deserves every ounce of it), but I wish Cold Steel could get in on that too, y'know?
All aboard the HYPE TRAIN for Cold Steel 3 though! Really hope XSeed can get this one (especially after YS VIII's issues, I don't recall any complaints about when XSeed did YS games, but now 8's just getting them all over the place)

pretty excited to see the conclusion of Cold steel I just want OG class VII members to be in the game more this time. with the shit that happened at the end of 3 it wouldn't make much sense for everyone to still be split up

it's funny you mention that considering that cold steel has those similarities with the Persona series, high school setting, bond events are pretty much social links, romance options and Yui Horie voices first girl in both Cold Steel and Persona 4.

Any Japanese game devoloper that chooses not to put their games on the Switch is either allergic to money, or they are flat out bad business people. The consoles and its software sales are going bonkers, hence why Bandai-Namco, Square etc are now scrambling to jump on board. Bandai have even admitted that no putting .Hack//G.U Recode on the Switch was a mistake.

Where has Bandai Namco said this, because I haven't seen anything like that from them. And also no Japanese developers don't need the Switch when the PS4 has already been selling at a pace that matches the PS2 if not outpaces it.

Yes, I'm sure Sony is paying for a franchise that can't even sell 150,000 units domestically.  You have to go back decades to find a Falcom developed title on Nintendo hardware.
That said, I can see Falcom licensing their games out to Kadokawa for them to port to Switch. With no new Sony handheld, Falcom is essentially abandoning their domestic market.

I hope XSEED doesn't get Cold Steel 3. They'd localize the PS4 version, then 18 months later port it to PC with more recorded audio and when asked if they'd add those features back to the PS4 version, they'd twiddle their thumbs.

In that case you'd have to blame Falcom, not XSEED, as it's Falcom who does the localisation programming on the console versions. In fact, back when CS1 was being localised, XSEED already asked if they can add more voicework and Falcom said "nuh-uh".
But sure, if you want more crappy localisations like Ys VIII and Tokyo Xanadu, hope for other publishers to get it.

Actually, a Switch port is unlikely because Cold Steel uses the Fire Engine, which is optimized for Sony consoles, unless a Switch porting team could find a way to get around the incompatability, it'd be next to impossible. Porting to the PC is much easier since it is.
And yeah, it was Falcom who refused to program in the extra voiced lines, XSeed planned to have them since day 1, since they found Rean's conspicuous lack of dialogue to be unacceptable. You can blame Japanese talent agencies and Rean's Japanese VA who was too expensive for Falcom to use consistently. XSeed always tries to get Japanese audio if they can as well as dubs, but it's not their fault.
If you want the best versions of Cold Steel with vastly improved graphical performance, tons of bug and coding fixes, a port that can run on 5-year-old laptops just fine, and 5000 extra voiced lines (they're doing the same for CS2 including giving lines to some of the fan favorite NPCS), support the series and get them on PC please.

Good lord. Look at the ignorance in this thread. Keep port begging for a Switch release because it's not happening. Falcom's plan (which they have stated) is to move the series to PS4 only. Plus, they were happy with how SnK III sold as shown on their twitter profile. It's a publisher/devs choice on where they want to release their games. You people have no respect for things that are inconvenient for you. Allergic to money? Get over yourself.

Or please buy the PC ports that XSeed goes beyond and above the call of duty to make themselves. They're the definitive versions.
