YES!!! At least this classic Year 24 Group manga will actually be released this time *glares angrily at Udon*! As a trans-man myself, I personally found this manga spoke to me so I am so VERY excited to own this one! If their monster girl ecchi stuff helps them get things like this, I am a-ok with that.

Awesome! I remember reading this online! Now I can own it and put it on my shelf! I'm not trans myself, but I really like this manga.

Hey, nice! Didn't think this would ever get licensed. And the price doesn't look too bad either. Though it's kind of funny that the second Ikeda manga to be licensed will probably be published before the first.

Are you on mobile? I feel like your comment was supposed to be "monster girl ecchi stuff". Since that makes the most sense given that Monster Musume is one of their money maker series. Which I mean that is pretty much THEE money make one in terms of Monster Girls, the rest are bit more niche, or so I think. I know it's kind of taboo on ANN to admit that you like Monster Musume, but I rather enjoy the series and the comedy, I do think it's great that they're picking up "Claudine" as well. More variety and appealing to all different kinds of readers is my favorite thing about manga.

Last I heard Udon was trying for Spring 2018 for Rose of Versailles. So maybe it will be out before Claudine. I’m still pinching myself Claudine was picked up. So I hope Seven Seas doesn’t run into trouble with it either.

It is looking Seven Seas is carving themselves out a nice little niche of older Manga titles from this to Space Battleship Yamato, Captain Harlock, Devilman, and Cutey Honey. It's nice to that a demand is being met while avoiding some of the more pretentious marketing of those titles like what Vertical's Dororo Omnibus received in the past.

Although I honestly thought The Song of Wind and Trees was going to be licensed. Hopefully if Claudine sells well that can still be a possibility in the distant future. Still nice to get some 70s Shojo Manga.

Although I think a real coup would be to get some non Year 24 Group Shojo Manga licensed. As sometimes older Shojo Manga in some reader's minds seems to rise and set around the Year 24 Group and only the year 24 Group.

As well as to quote from Tomoko Yamada's exhaustive overview of the use of the term "Year 24 Group," "There is a danger of its use perpetuating bias against other manga artists, and particularly against earlier shōjo manga artists." But I digress still fantastic news all things considered

Amazing, this is a title I never really imagined would get licensed, except maybe by Fantagraphics or something. Can't wait to hold it in my hands in English.

Just a couple of years ago I always rolled my eyes at Seven Seas licence announcements because it was like the publisher had been designed to release the exact opposite of what I like, but for about a year now, they've been my favourite US publisher. They put out some amazing stuff.

My top choice would be Aim for the Ace (c'mon, Seven Seas, sports series are hot right now). The author was born in Showa 24, but I've never seen her included in the Year 24 group, probably because she isn't revolutionary the way Ikeda, Takemiya and Hagio are.
