Did they ever give an explanation for why they pushed back the 4th Colossal edition a whole 11 months?

There was a "Beginnings" box set with Volumes 1-4, and a spin-offs box set containing volume 1 of the 4 spin off series they had at the time.

This will be a more proper boxset I suppose? That or they're just trying to milk it for all its worth.
