I'm surprised they haven't announced when Kakegurui is coming out, that show is over six months old now.

Yeah, if only they were as (relatively) quick getting that show out as they were with Apocrypha, especially considering Kakegurui premiered in the same season and was only about half the episode length.

That's a bit later than I would've liked, but whatever. Considering they have the resources to obviously dub Violet Evergarden as a simulcast, I genuinely can not figure out why they can't make these shows available as soon as they are finished, if they plan to continue with their binge model. I'm a fan of binging, personally, but I like to do it as soon as something is over so I can still get in on the conversation, not months later...

Fate/Apocrypha has been kind of a mixed bag for me, but I have some drive in at lease finishing it. Also, it had a pretty solid dub. I'm just so thankful they didn't give Jeanne one of those fake French accent.

Hmmm, the announcement doesn't say anything about season 2 appearing on Netflix Canada...

I just got it off the show page on Netflix. I'd check there if you haven't already.

I'm not sure what you mean by "show page." I logged onto my Netflix account but the only thing I can see related to F/A is the first part.

The link in the article goes directly to it (don't know if it will redirect to the Canadian one or if it will stay on the US one) but if you click on Apocrypha, the information would appear in the overview section, which should be the one that it first opens to, underneath the title, year, TV rating, and number of seasons, and just above the description.

Edit: added a picture

Cool! The dub has been really good. 3 months between each releases seems reasonable. Kakeguri is kinda weird. But I figure they are just limited in resources. I mean they have a lot of anime coming and much much more stuff not anime related.

When I click on the link in the ANN article it showed me information on Part 2 but I wasn't logged in. When I logged in, all information about Part 2 disappeared. I'm not particularly worried... if Netflix Canada had Part 1, I can't imagine they wouldn't have part 2, but some advance confirmation would be nice.

The time is pretty good since I still haven't finished Part 1 (I think I'm on eppie 10).

Yeah, things would be clearer if they had made a formal announcement or even sent an email instead of just plopping the information on the page, hoping someone would come across it and spread the word.

The anime premiered in Japanese television on July 1 and on Netflix in Japan on July 3 and aired a total of 25 episodes and one recap episode.

Actually there were two recap episodes the first one narrated by Jeanne's and Sieg's VAs, the second one was "Episode 19.5" which was narrated by Astolfo and Shakespeare. Which was a pretty fun recap, especially since Shakespeare is one of my favorite servants in Apocrypha next to Achilles.

Anyways, I'll be looking forward to rewatching it with the English dub when it's out.

Sorry, I am not giving Netflix the benefit of the doubt of "limited resources". They manage shows from all over the world, and spend millions per episode on original productions. If there's one thing they have, it's resources to sub and dub a couple of pre-made anime series. Kakegurui and Children of the Whales are simply not priorities to them for reasons they prefer not to communicate with fans. Maybe it's because they're not "Netflix Originals" in the same way Devilman Crybaby is, idk.

The reason they can't for some of them is the fact they have to dub it and they probably dub it all at once so they have to wait for the entire show to actually be finished (it is not uncommon for episodes of an anime to be worked on right up until they air). They could also be waiting for the final release for some of their less popular shows. Fate is Fate and it is really popular so they are probably trying to push that out asap, but they probably don't feel that rush with others.

On the point of Violet Evergarden, I've read that the only reason it is getting dubbed so quickly and being simulcast is some countries (the next day after it airs on TV in Japan for both) is because Kyoto Animation already has most of the series done and they are far ahead of a typical anime schedule so Netflix was able to get their hands on the first episodes a while ago giving them plenty of time to dub it. Probably also explains why it has a good cast of VAs while things like Little Witch are dreadful.
