Oh, man. This is going to be great. Things are going to start getting REAL heavy in this third season.

The problem is that not every manga's character designs can translate well to an anime. Sometimes, it's just too expensive. Sometimes, it's too difficult. Sometimes, it's too time consuming. Sometimes, they just don't look right when moving.

If you look at the pre-production phase for any high-budget animated film, you'll see that there will always be at least one character whose design is drastically changed from how he or she originally was due to giving the animators a lot of trouble. For instance, the characters in Wreck-it Ralph the animators found hardest to animate (and this is Disney we're talking about here) were the Nicelanders: Their heads were so big, and their limbs so small and stocky, that their body parts were constantly clipping into each other and it was impossible to create a way to make them walk that wasn't so jarring as to draw attention to itself. (For that reason, I would bet it was a challenge to get Mineta to move naturally and in the same way as the rest of the main characters.)
