He's going to make a manga adaptation of Cool World.

I'm not surprised that Plue will return. He is what reminds us of Rave. Interesting notes about the new work. Looking forward to the service.

That's like telling comic book companies to stop rebooting their lines every few years.

Super excited for Hiro's next series. Really loved Fairy Tail and it got me through a dark time in my life. Also despite the fanservice I really enjoyed how the female protagonists were treated just as well as the male protagonists, like actually being allowed to win major fights and shit unlike most other shonen series out there. Wendy especially was my favorite (no surprise there) and it was amazing watching her growth as a character.

Usually the louder the negative minority, the bigger the silent majority that enjoys it. Going to see Dragon cry with the whole theater full of exicted fans was one of the greatest anime community moment I had ever went too. Fairy Tail fans are such fun people.

Anyway, really excited to see what his next work will be.

Wasn't the Naruto manga author supposed to start working on a sci-fi manga after Naruto finished? Whatever happened to that?

I agree, when I went the other fans complimented me on my Happy Hat and T-Shirt. Also one of my most popular fanfics is a Fairy Tail/Gravity Falls story. So much it's the 2nd most reviewed Gravity Falls crossover on fanfiction.net.

Masashi Kishimoto wants to take a long break from making manga. Doing Naruto took up so much of his time that he was barely able to see his own child for a few years. He'll make his next series when he's ready.

While I don't follow "One Piece", Kishi-sensi and Kubo-sensei could have learned from the above point I put in bold. Heck, Lucy's and Erza's respective FT Wiki profiles lists them with 50 & 55 battles or co-battles.

The thing is at least in Kishi's case there was never really a strong emphasis placed on the female characters who came off basically as token additions to the various ninja teams even after Tsunade wreck Orochimaru in her own arc, and not helped by most of the story focusing almost exclusively on Naruto and Sasuke (which wasn't inherently wrong). Kubo on the other hand doesn't really have an excuse where Rukia and Orihime were concerned (or Chad and Uryuu).

Kubo was never that good at fight choreography to begin with. (Naoshi Komi, who mainly does romance stories, absolutely trounces Kubo during the few times we have a fight scene. That is, the go-to ROMANCE STORY guy is a much better fight choreographer than Kubo.) One of the rare times we get a female hero in a major fight, Yoruichi vs. Nakk Le Vaar, I would say is the single worst fight in the entire series, as it consisted almost entirely of both sides going, "I counter A with B," "I counter B with C," "I counter C with D," and so forth, but the one right before that one (various men versus that sniper) was almost as bad, considering the sniper guy threw away his abilities pretty early on to turn into a chicken that could seemingly survive anything done to him.

As for One Piece, well, I've been reading the manga right from the beginning, and while the women of the Straw Hat Pirates, as well as some female allies like Vivi, got into their fair share of battles in which they held their own, there's been a lot less of that from the time skip and onward, with Nami and Robin typically assigned to support duties or to fight groups of nameless extras. However, one thing has remained that isn't seen in manga as much as I would like: Never once is the perspective that a woman should be protected by a man shown in a sympathetic light. You see this most clearly with Sanji, who believes this and, in at least two arcs so far, has let this mindset put himself and his crewmates in greater danger than they should have. That is, One Piece is written partially under the idea that women are just as valuable in a fight as men--there jsut haven't been quite as many opportunities to show that. That being said, just a few chapters ago in the manga, spoiler[Carrot had just sunk a large part of Big Mom's fleet of ships all by herself, curb-stomping Daifuku in the process.]
