I'm amusing their just referring to the recent reveal that spoiler[ Minerva is Dead ] happened, not that the series is changing.

So is this manga still worth collecting now? I have the first volume and after hearing that it's halfway through, I'm having doubts on whether I should buy the second volume that just released and beyond. Either way, I'll be sad when this goes.

The first arc of the manga is incredible and DEFINITELY worth reading. You could (arguably) stop at the end of the first arc if you don't want to keep buying since it has a "valid" stop point. But the story since the spoiler in the article has definitely still been interesting and entertaining. I'm not 100% sure what the editor is referring to (is he talking about the spoiler bit, or more recent events?). Either way, I'm hard pressed to believe that the manga is anywhere near ending, since there's definitely a lot of story left to tell.

Based on the most recent chapter, I'd say this has more to do with the fact that rather than spoiler[trying to escape from Grace Field House], they're now trying to spoiler[infiltrate it]... in a sense, they are literally "turning around".

This week's chapter felt like a transition from the second act of a story to its third act. Namely, spoiler[instead of running away from the demons/monsters/maneaters, the effort is now underway for the humans to organize a direct attack on them] and that spoiler[the true antagonist of this series, William Minerva's brother Peter, has been identified.] I was actually thinking about how much story there might be left after I had finished the chapter, though there are still a lot of unresolved plot threads. (Actually, I don't think there's been any threads that have been fully resolved.)

Oh, that would be a very interesting interpretation of that phrase. But that would only apply to the spoiler[Grace Field kids. There are four other top-quality farms, possibly a fifth Minerva created himself, each with their own tunnels to the Human World, and it doesn't explain the "Seven Walls" concept.]

Honestly it's just really nice to know they have it all planned out - I can totally see why recent events could be a turnaround point. Whether we're actually halfway done or the story is simply putting into motion events that will lead to the eventual end regardless of how long that might take, I'm excited to see where this all goes. It's been a fun ride so far.

Yeah you definitely don't drag your story in terms for more content or chapters, it will down grade a series, which happens kinda often for most weekly shonen titles. Keep the Manga good until its hot. I hope the author and artist ends it the way they want to end it and not because their editors tell them to add more chapters to make this certain thing happen.
