I'll pass thank you very much on seeing these in theaters considering I just didn't like them very much. Again the re-casting of the characters stunk mostly and the music was lame. The only thing that really worked is yes the racing scenes looked good and the animation was better.

Not even going to get into the plot changes the movies do to the anime in general including changes about Natsuki and gutting Iketani's character pretty much.

Very disappointed at Sentai for not showing the English Dubbed versions of these movies in theaters. I'm not paying to watch a subtitled movie...

The seiyuu choices are so odd to me for this reboot. They are the most popular seiyuu currently of this gen but most of them do fujo stuff.

I don't think I would go to theatres to see this either. A car racing movie is not something you want to have to deal with trying to read subtitles and keep up with the action on-screen. As someone who prefers subtitles I think showing the dubbed version would have been a better move.

The recent re-makes actually did a better job of portraying the story than the original anime did. The two biggest issues the original anime had were initial continuity issues (the entire first season was effectively re-worked to ensure that the final battle was against Takahashi Ryosuke) and having to adjust it's time frame to correlate to modern vehicles (cars like the 350Z and S2000 appear in the series eventually when they would not have appeared in the 1995-1997 time period the entirety of the series is supposed to take place in). For the second point in particular if in the new re-makes you watch the cars in detail the 2nd stringer RedSuns and Speedstars drive you'll notice none of them are newer than circa 1995 and are more in-line as to what amateur street racers would have drove in the early 90s.

In re: to Mogi and Iketani I never really like Mogi's character simply because both her character's plot was almost near irrelevant only to justify a later race & she's ultimately a product of Shuichi Shigeno seemingly having a hard time writing his characters into love stories (Shingeno's other prior works BariBari and Nuketara had it's love issues also...). With Iketani it's probably more in line of following the manga more closely. Iketani's character doesn't really start to see development until he meets Sato (and yet again Shingeno's writing comes into play; I'm convinced he must of had some girl problems in his life).
