I don't have much to say about the show, it's nice but nothing particularly special. But did the show just casually introduce a pedophile, in a show about baby/toodler, and everyone reaction to that was "you can come play with the kids but just once in awhile"?

I don't think he is actually a pedophile, just someone who really likes cute things, but because his reaction is to get a nosebleed everyone thinks he is a pedophile. Which is why they won't let him come visit the kids at all if they can help it.

I'm surprised the review didn't even mention it, but they really did pull out the stranger-danger stops for the entirety of episode 3. First was Yagi and his Pillsbury Doughboy fetish, then Usaida terrorizing the kids with his story of the kidnapping child-eater (who looked suspiciously like the twins' papa, until he ate them), then the other boys trying to catch the kids to use as living heat packs, then masked Daddy in his flasher trenchcoat disguise. It was just one thing after another. But it still made me laugh, as sketchy as it all was.

I also got a chuckle out of the toddler cart. The first time I saw one of those I just laughed my ass off. It just looks so silly hauling a passel of kids around like a farmer bringing sheep to market. Very Happy

And now we know who Kazuma gets his hair-trigger tear ducts from.

Yagi is not a paedophile it's just a running joke in the show :3

spoiler[ In the manga, he was lonely as a child despite being popular in school. On his birthday his busy parents and sister couldn't celebrate with him and he was all alone and crying. His classmate Nezu saw him crying and brought him home to celebrate his birthday. At his place, he saw Nezu's twin younger brothers who smiled at him and he thought it was so adorable his nose started bleeding. I guess he felt "healed" by the "angels' smile" that he could not resist babies/toddlers from then on. ]

He just really loves kids, not in the pedo way. Read the manga if you really want to know more.

I think the first eps was handled very nicely.
But later episodes (although just only 2 more thus far) kinda... random?
I'm not sure about how those characters will be in the future, I mean, the baseball club brother who did seem to not care about his little brother, the strict girl, usaida, maybe there are others.

Perhaps it's just me, but what those characters do to the babies seem not right sometimes. And thus far, they seemed to learn very little, if not learning at all. Even I kind of okay with the nosebleed guy, since I believe they won't introduce a regular pedophile character in this show (not in that light anyway) that he's just some admirer of babies.
Maybe this show want to show that it's in their character to be that way, and we are to embrace them being who they actually are. Yet, I want to see the brother show visible genuine care toward his little brother, the girl not yelling to the babies, or Usaida sees the babies to be more than pocket money resources.

Yeah, it's a sort of off-color joke but a joke regardless. This is the exact same reaction I have to cute animals, if I was an anime character I'd have nosebleeds, too.

Episode 4 was the sweetest f*cking thing. Really glad to see none of that other guy, and I'm excited to have Hayato potentially join the club as well. Hopefully the show sticks to more content like this.

I actually really enjoy this anime! The manga is definitely worth a read as well. In my opinion it's kind of a nice break from all hyper fanservice anime out right now Rolling Eyes I enjoy slower slice of life type stories and that's just what this has to offer! The anime adaption is doing a pretty great job at following the manga, only skipping a few side stories so far. I'm really interested to see where they take this and see how far they get into the manga's story.

If you don't think this is fanservice, I'm not sure what would be fanservice to you(I'm kidding I know exactly what kind of fanservice you mean, but nearly everything about this show is fanservice for me, and a certain segment of the fandom.) Razz

I feel like Usaida isn't getting enough credit here. Going around like that is a good way to advertise the club, plus there's nothing saying Ryuuichi can't join more than one club (like Kamitani ends up doing) so letting him see his other options might get him interested. Despite his laziness he is a pretty perceptive guy.

Wow, after this week I'm having a hard time deciding which is cuter: Kotaro playing apothecary for Ryu or mummy Mii playing cold compress for Sora. What a dilemma!

Ryu's dream about his parents considerately taking Kotaro with them on their ill-fated flight was heartbreaking. What a worm's nest of mixed emotions were bundled up in that scenario. (';')

And once again, Usaida lets his charges wander off while he's not paying attention to them. Three strikes, buddy. Three strikes...

haha, I'm just saying, this anime is mostly cutesy fluff with some nice looking guy characters sprinkled in. Plus it does hit on some fairly deep subjects especially in the manga. It's like, at least this is different? I guess from all the harem rom coms and monster girl shows that seem to be taking over Razz

His deal with the chairwoman is that he and his brother get taken care of in exchange for him spending all his free time with the toddlers. So he quite literally can't join another club, that would mean breaking his promise. Plus with the memory of his parents' death being still fresh, he'd probably feel all sorts of guilty for not spending as much time with Kotarou as possible.

That said, I really hope that eventually Ryuuichi gets over this and finds a balance between being a surrogate parent for Kotarou and actually having a life. The current situation is understandable, but not exactly healthy.

Kotaro is so damn cute. I can't get enough of this kid. He's definitely my spirit animal. Laughing

I, of course, in no way jumped off the woodshed with an umbrella as a small child.

So how'd that work out for ya? Twisted Evil Hopefully the shed was small and the ground was soft.

I never jumped off things thinking I could fly, because we were always jumping off bales in the haymow and it was obvious that's not how it's done. Instead, I used to stand at the base of a huge grain silo, leaning into the constant wind it created, trying to catch some lift in my clothes like a kite. Not that I believed it would work, but wind strong enough to nearly knock a kid off her feet fed my imagination sufficiently that it was still satisfying to do it. Smile

For every sad shot we get of poor little Kotaro just standing there patiently holding his copy of Cinderella, there's something sillier like the twins both being the yellow ranger

Yes, someone please read him Cinderella already! :sob: And I really loved the ranger bit, because if yellow and blue make green, well naturally (child) logic dictates that green and blue would make yellow!
