I sort of feel like valve is taunting us with stuff like this. We're still waiting for half-life 3 but in the meantime they put a costume in final fantasy game.

How so? I do agree that these skins are silly and have literally nothing to do with the game, but FF games have had a healthy sense of humor for a long time. Remember Cloud's crossdressing scene from FF7? Remember the peeing scene between Zidane and Vivi in FF9? Remember the silly fake-laughing scene from FFX? Remember Inspector Hildibrand's side quests in FF14? And now we have a couple of silly skins to celebrate the Windows version of FF15. What's the big deal?

If you think something like this means that a game has no pride, you need to stop taking games so seriously.

I'm not sure that one was intended to be funny. Probably just bad acting.

No, the voice actors actually came out and confirmed it was fake laughing. I know it's easy to shit on English dubs, but come on.

People take that scene out of context almost as much as they like to take Shirou's "People die when they're killed" from Fate / Stay Night out of context. It's clearly intended to be a silly yet heartwarming scene between Tidus and Yuna. Tidus has just found out that his father is Sin, the ultimate source of all evil in Spira, and Yuna tells him to be happy in spite of it. So Tidus, very sarcastically forces himself to laugh, and Yuna shows her support by joining his fake laughter (which then evolves into a real laugh when they both realize how insane they must look).
It's a silly little moment, but bad voice acting has nothing to do with it. There's a lot of heart behind it.
