I don't know... I mean I love the soundtrack, but nothing about it seems to really pop like the original. Feels like it's just going through the motions. I really hope I'm wrong, but so far this just isn't blowing me away.

What exactly were you two expecting? It's made by the same people, the look and animation is as close as you can get to the original without it being the same thing.

For that guy that hated Kari's nasal voice and was hoping for better from the Japanese VA, well it's official, Haruko's voice is the same in Japanese. Great to see Shintai in OVA3 though and seeing that she did Midori in Space Patrol Luluco I did a head-desk. Should have known from the voice...

They both sound the same. Get your ears checked.

Having never seen the original FLCL, I don't know what the fan expectations are for this, but I personally am looking forward to it and it's made me more curious to check out the original. At the very least this looks like it will be something unique instead of the umpteenth isekai anime.

I know the article mentions that name romanizations are not official, but...

Although maybe that "Alternative" subtitle is more significant than I garnered initially...

In the original series, Amarao claims that Haruko's real name is Haruha Raharu. The fact that they have different voices now probably means that Amarao was wrong and that Raharu is actually someone else. I guess we'll have to wait and see.
