that's neat. hope it works out. its also kinda sounds like they eventually plan to dub in other languages as well.

I really wish more companies would start doing these kind of things for dubs, waiting over six months to a year for a dub, should be a thing of the past.

Good news for dub lovers, but this isn't all that surprising honestly. If Sentai wants to compete with Funimation and counteract their alliance with Crunchyroll this was all but inevitable.
More competition means a better overall product for the consumer (in theory), so this is a very welcome development.

I suppose this was inevitable. HIDIVE and Sentai are going to need to work hard because based on Sentai's usual dub quality, I do not trust them to make good quality simuldubs. But hopefully things work out and HIDIVE and Sentai make a lot of money that would allow them to better compete with CR-Funi.

Good move by Sentai and I guess I will soon have subscriptions to 6 streaming services. Streaming is the future for video and that is even more true for the anime market.

Cool. Hopefully, the actors that appear in both Funimation and Sentai dubs don’t get burned out too quickly if they appear in dubs for airing shows for both companies. Looking forward to seeing how this turns out and I hope that it will be a success for them.
Way to go for generalizing. Some of them are actually pretty decent to listen to and I doubt that I’m the only one who thinks so. |

Considering that there is a lot of Houston actors/actresses that are worthy of being in voice acting or want to further continue voice acting, this dubcast* initiative is a way to do that.

You are not alone. Across the board Funimation and Bang Zoom do better dubs in overall quality, but Sentai did great work in Parasyte, Akame ga Kill, Chuunibyou. Sentai's problem is inconsistency in quality and casting some voice actors in way to many roles. Perhaps this dubcast initiative will be a great opportunity for improvement and to add new blood. |

Oh for fucks sake, is this going to be universal soon? Will the days of proper dubbing be behind us. Will the days of a script writer going over a completed show and adapting it be lost to someone hurling hashing out a script week by week with no diea how the show plays out, for some poor VAs recording for a character they know nothing about.
Also what will become of shows that become popular after the season has started, and didn't get a simuldub? Will they never get a dub as there is no one free to dub it. |

Eventually Sentai Filmworks will have to re-dub that show for the home video version. As far as "proper dubbing", there are still plenty of shows that are dubbed only for the home video version. As far as your last point, if a show is popular enough* and the license allows for an Eng. dub to happen, it might eventually get dubbed. *I am factoring official streaming views (both here and foreign), domestic Japanese home video sales, as well as merchandise sales, and source material sales for the show to be considered "popular". |

Are their some certain dubs that are bad ?
Maybe I’m not watching enough of them or something but I haven’t had a problem with any of Sentai dubs. Love chunibyo,my love story,clannad, and especially food wars is my new favorite. I’m confused. In any case ,don’t really care,as Sentai rarely gets shows I care about,would be nice if they did this for food wars. But honestly I would care more about getting an Apple TV app before simul dub. |

This is neat, I'm glad Sentai has gotten back on their feet after parting with Crunchyroll and the abysmal Strike situation. I personally think it'd really challenge the CR/Funi partnership, since you'll have access to both the sub and dub of a show without needing two subscriptions for either one.
Now if only they could get a hold of Food Wars S3 and dub that... |
