I don't like being that guy, but I really hope this isn't the maturity level of current Dragon Ball fans that they feel the need to dislike bomb another show they perceive to be "replacing" Super.

Partly I agree with you. The problem itself is that this show had several remakes. If you do a search you will know that Toei has already produced it hundreds of times. Maybe it's not even an attempt to recreate a commercial hit, because that series has never really been.

I think the break in Dragon Ball was just an excuse to readapt anything that might give them time.

I love Dragon Ball(not so much Super) but this is most likely the case. Dragon Ball has by far the worst fandom in anime.

What I'd be curious to know though is if most of those dislikes are the Japanese or mainly just the people outside of Japan.

No surprise, there were similar reactions when Toriko replaced Kai back in 2011...long before people saw what a bad adaptation that turned out to be.

Looking forward to this show since I was a fan of the 2007 series. The current teaser implies a more dark tone and I am excited to see new nekomusume in action. :3

Kitaro every decade is basically a tradition at this point. You may be right about your later point, but people should neither be surprised nor angry about this new show.

Why does this show look so good, while super looked so bad?

There might be some people angry with the show because it happens to be getting the same time slot but it would only be a tiny fraction of the fandom. I am curious to see if the remake of GeGeGe no Kitarō will get picked up by Crunchyroll since based on the promo video it looks like they made an effort to modernize it.

I hope Funimation acquires the rights.
