Please don't turn this into a heavy fanservice fest. Mobage adaptations are at least fun and can do whatever with the stories since they were basic at best in the game but boy, do they end up getting more lackluster since 2 years ago. |

Mobage has been a trend in Japan for many years now and a handful of them have been getting their own anime. More popular mobage have anime with better quality whereas the lesser ones have anime that are more of a one-cour 30-min ad. Personally, I really hate mobage anime because most of them will always prefer a male protagonist even when the fans prefer a female one (Fate Grand Order and Granblue Fantasy) and when it is about X girls doing X things, there will always be a male self-insert around (Idolmaster and Uma Musume). I wish we have more mobage like BanG Dream. Its anime may not be impressive but its game is one of the most popular in Japan. Like Love Live, BanG Dream is a rare series where the featureless self-insert is just an afterthought and the girls are the real focus. I hope big time that there will be more cute girls mobage series that will follow Love Live and BanG Dream. As for this Pastel Memories anime, I just hope that it will not go in the same direction as Uma Musume but I can see that it will happen anyway and I will not be surprised at all. |

I was thinking the same thing! I'm hoping the story and direction are good enough that any fanservice the series DOES have doesn't get in-your-face obnoxious. |

That said, those mobage were created after the anime/original source. They already had a story and are just capitalising on it, without a proper story or anything. (not 100% sure of Bandori because I'm not really across its timeline). Most mobage seem to have the same plots. It's either: raising idols of one particular gender (idolm@ster, ensemble stars etc) fantasy story with cute mascot character (i.e. granblue, that happy elements game uhh merc story? or the other HE game, I forget, this stuff blurs into one for me) cute girls fighting some virus/monster And they don't always have the best of plots (the fantasy ones can work better as stories but are super generic. idol raising ones can work but are niche and restricted. cute girls are also generic) more on topic, I didn't mind the designs in this until I saw those massive boobs. Yeesh |
