Interesting. I wonder what went wrong? I must admit, I'm a little bit glad at the staff change, because the original promo art kind of looked like crap (especially Hajime - he didn't look anything like the LN's art). But this new picture looks better, even though you can't see Hajime's face. I have hope.

No staff change is going to save this source material.

Seeing those original character designs a few months ago its obvious that everything went wrong, those were trash and Yue looks leagues better now so I'm sure Hajime looks fine too. This year delay and staff overhaul was a great move cause the anime was on a fast, straight path to a dumpster fire.

Am I the only one that think that Girl has some serious problem with her torso and really small leg. General design looks way better than the old one, but why draw something the artist can't draw perfectly for a important promotion? It feels like 2 different drawing stitched together.
I'm an artist (novice). If that strengthen a bit of my argument.

This make justice to Takayaki great art.
Is better to delay the anime than make a complete mess of it.

I hope that the anime adaption make a better job than the manga.
It hurt allot how much things they left out of the story in the manga adaption.

What about my argument? do you see if there's anything wrong with the anatomy? Just saying that is pretty useless answer.

I mean, as far as I can tell he's not saying if you were wrong or not, he's just saying that being a novice artist doesn't strengthen your argument any.

If it has the art of the manga and the complete story of the original novels, it would be great

Yeah, I wanted actual answer to my argument though. I mean if you read through my reply why only answer half assedly, might as well give a solid reply.

It’s drawn correctly. Her long jacket and back shot with her head turned around does give the illusion that something is off tho and the fact that she’s a loli so small legs are standard.

It’s similar to the problem the poster for Ready player one faced even tho it was pictured correctly.

Now that you've said it, It's a pretty similiar case to that poster. I still think her butt is placed too low, and that right leg is really off. Art sure is confusing haha.

I think what may be throwing you off is the way her white coat billows to show her skirt. At first glance, it gives the impression that her butt is "cut off" on the right. Just my opinion though.

What's your problem with the source material? I haven't read the LN, but from the summary it sounds like a classic rags-to-riches underdog story. I know KonoSuba had a similar premise with an unlucky, underpowered protagonist, but that one was mostly comedy while this seems to play it more straight.

Can't screw up the face if there is no face *taps head*.

But the plain white background of the key visual isn't promising either. Well, Rakudai had a relatively plain key visual and looked great, so I still have hope.
