I thought this was suppose to be a slice of life series... Those don't tend to have story arcs. And why is there magic all of a sudden?

I do not recall a fantasy element either. Must they deem it necessary to introduce such trifles when the show has—and has always had—an ace over similar titles?

(By which, of course, I refer to Whoopyo.)

This is arriving at the part where people commonly thought that the mangaka was high or something, hence why there's a sudden inclusion of magic coming out of the blue. Well, spoiler[for a yuri fan such as myself, it's only gonna escalate toward being worse from here on out,] though I have faith that the anime staff will corrected Amano's mistakes.

Aria, by same author, had time travel, ghosts and overall weirdness when it comes to cats. So it does seem to be her thing.

And I really look forward to it.

I thought this was a diving anime?

I felt that Aria wasn't playing to its strengths by introducing fantastical elements. Iyashikei anime are best suited to celebrating the wonders of the everyday, without the need for anything so farfetched. The time-travelling episodes came across as more of a distraction than a bonus.

IMO the supernatural elements felt more natural in Aria because Aqua/Neo-Venezia is a mysterious (even magical) setting and sort of a character itself. And Akari was the perfect character for exploring it.

Amanchu!, on the other hand, has been a very mundane coming of age story featuring diving so far, so stuff like this seems rather out of place.
