Yes, yes, we know that. But still... why? With all sorts of tangibly horrible things going on in the world (terrorism, genocide, bigotry, war and the constant threat of it escalating, take your pick) the thing that makes you feel like giving up on the human race is... VR anime waifus?
Don't get me wrong, I think this is weird, too. But I've never understood over-the-top "cringe" reactions to weird or childish things. Humans do a lot of weird stuff, and most of it's relatively harmless. Most of our societal problems come from overreacting to other people's unusual habits, rather than the unusual habits themselves.
