Man, I didn’t realize that Teasing Master Takagi-san was selling this well, almost 5 million copies in print. Hopefully, a second season can happen with those numbers as I’ve been really enjoying the series.

That number for Hikaru no Go might be old (as in, the number is current as of now, but it might have been at 25 million for quite a while), but that number was revealed at the same time as the Chinese live-action adaptation was revealed last month. We didn't have a past number on ANN to go off of, so we decided to include it in this roundup.

OP's sales figures rival the 3 best-selling comic book series started out as comic books: Superman (600 million), Batman (460 million)_, and then Spider-Man (360 million).

While not huge, 25 million for 23 volumes for Hikaru no Go works out as 1.087 million per volume, which means it was modest hit, even in the past when sales were higher and I heard it ranked well in the magazine too.

It is a shame that controversy over that character based on that famous Korean pro caused the manga to end before its time. Still one of my favourite manga and anime of all time.
