Wow, I'm so glad people are coming out more and more about how manipulative these companies are, and especially about the kinds of manipulation and harassment that's being put on them.
I hope as they speak up more, others will take it on themselves to stop shaming them and educates themselves, and the victims will gain more support. |

I remember in another thread someone said that they hadn't heard about any #metoo type stuff in Japan, thus Japan must be pretty much sexual harassment free country.

Things I've heard over the years strongly imply that sexual harassment problems are actually much worse in Japan, but they've traditionally done a better job of burying the incidents.
Not at all surprised that we're starting to here accounts like this coming out. They definitely won't be the last. |

That's great logic. I had a similar comment made to me yesterday on a different site. Someone said that racism is "few and far between" in America. I assume because they've never experienced it themselves. It's amazing how people have that type of mindset. It's really sad this happened to Hiroko Konishi, but brave of her to speak out. I very much doubt this will be the last story we hear like this. I expect the live-action industry will have a lot of stories to tell as well. Hopefully these victims will find the courage to speak out while people are still paying attention. |

Unfortunately looks like this kinds of story happens allot in the entertainment industry all over the world.
This is disgusting and make me think how nasty things are behind the scenes in the entertainment industry, were drugs and alcohol also make the industry a dark place to work at. This also reflects how lazy some higher ups, man and woman in the industry are. If they want to charm and seduce someone they should put a real effort and not using their position to get the lady or the man they are interested. They should learn the art of seduction and not use the higher position they have in the industry and sexual harass others. Lean from examples as Casanova, Lord Byron and Cleopatra. They really know the art of seduction. They didn't need sexual harassment to get the lady's and men's hearts. |

Maybe in 21 century terms but in the 1700's when he lived here the life expectancy was about 30 years of age and where people marriage can be as soon as 12 year old he wasn't looked as such. In terms of 21 century, is equivalent of a girl of 17-18 year old. |

I wasn't saying that it is OK to marry a 12 yo In a matter of fact is great that we evolved and things are so different nowdays. Just that at that time, it was something that happened allot. But OK, let's remove Casanova from the list, there are other great seducers that are less controversial examples. About seducing, unlike something that is imposed (sexual harassment and using your higher position to force somebody), seduction is something that the 2 people involved are comfortable with, and i have no problem with that happening. |

Knowing Japan, I'm sure this happens way more often than reported. A lot of Japanese women don't tend to speak out for fear of embarrassment. It's a very sad state of affairs.
