This probably happened because the latest entry in the anime didn't do so well, plus it originally belonged to Yamakan I believe and he's unbelievably controversial.

Personally I choose to blame Yamakan for being the stain that he is. Shame.

Last year when the anime ended, someone in the Discord noted that the WUG!s all had identical 6-year contracts, which would therefore be ending sometime in early 2019. It's really no different than what happened with Love Live's μ's, and presumably Aqours will face the same fate at some point in a few years.

At least we get a final tour. Pity they couldn't get one more anime to fix everything that New Chapter made wrong (maybe a wrap-up movie is underway and hasn't been announced yet, but that's wishful thinking). Also, FFS, someone please license the 2nd and 3rd movies for Western distribution.

I bet that all that Yamakan would probably say is "good riddance" by the time he apparently finds out about this.

As much as I wish this news wasn't true.... oh how I wish it wasnt true. All I can do is wish them the best in their future endevours, especially my girl Nanami. RIP WUG. I really will miss you guys so much; the one and only idol group I have and will, ever love.
(T^T)
Good-bye.

Honestly, I am more upset with that anime's male manager than Yamakan. Perhaps WUG should have gotten rid of him and never acknowledged his existence last season. That female president should have taken that role. Selfish thoughts aside, it is unfortunate that this is happening. I am sure even Yamakan is having mixed feelings about this. I wish the girls the best in their separate paths.

Basically what everyone already said... I wish them all the best but not really surprised by this. Last time anime was trashed. First anime wasn't really loved that much in the West but I really thought it was a nice change from the standard idol anime. I also found their songs to be more enjoyable (on average) than other idol groups. That song with May'n was probably the best.

WUG forever. Not Love Live or the Idol M@ster but was part of that idol anime scene. It made noise so they have to be proud of that.

While I was introduced to them via the anime they actually had some really good song beyond that vehicle. I literally just bought several songs off iTunes two days ago and I was impressed:
Koi De Ai De Boukundesu
Sukino Skill
7 Senses

These are really well produced songs (and recent too).

I was even hoping they would come to a convention sometime in the future but I guess that won't happen.

Sad

They performed at a little convention known as Anime Expo last year.
