Good to see the series on other consoles.

To experience the game in its whole glory,it is better to download it on Steam and then get the original H-patch.

Absolutely agreed. I have no problems with games designed to be all-ages, but to cut down to under 18 is usually the same as butchering a game. Most of the time, they take out the fun/exciting parts (for example If My Heart Had Wings) of the game then and it turned into a completely different - but worse - experience. I have yet to encounter a game that has been trimmed and yet is better than the original.

I understand the reason of doing it (to reach a larger audience) but the fact that they have to cut the scenes to begin with, shows how ridiculous our society is when it comes to sex/nudity

The porn scenes don't add anything to the game though, they very rarely do. It's only there for the sake of it.

Very much disagree. If you've played a lot of eroge you would see the majority of them have h scenes for a purpose. At least outside of nukiges which the purpose of the game are the h scenes anyway. For example, i have played both the all ages version and the original version of the Grisaia series. The 18+ version had exclusive character development that happens during those h scenes. Certain character motivations cannot even be portrayed without some form of sexuality.

Now in the case of Nekopara, you could in fact take out the h scenes and not have too big of a change in the story, but that would kind of defeat the purpose of the game. Unlike some other Moe games, Nekopara oozes sexuality constantly. If you take out the h scenes, you have just a giant tease of a game that features some cute cat girls. Some people will still enjoy it of course, but I cant help but think you would notice things are notably missing by playing the censored version.

Ah, the Bleached Underpants version of a game that was originally cat-girl porn.

Kanon, Air & Fate/Stay Night would like a word with ya. Honestly those visuals are better off with out the awkward & poorly written sex scenes.

Yeah but this is how they should be experienced because they were made to include these parts too.

I haven’t played this game yet, but I would much rather download the game straight from the developer’s website than deal with some patch. Also, I have friends on Steam that I would rather not let them know I’m playing cat girl porn.

They may not "add" to the game, but taking them away definitely subtracts something. At the very least, they'd need to rewrite the surrounding scenes since the narrative flows smoothly through the scenes, to the point where it's quite jarring if you just skip over them. This gets especially true in the second and third games.

If you buy the game off Steam, you'll have to buy the ero content separately(the Steam version's half price; the price of the patch is just the difference between the price of the Steam version and the full version). The game(and the patch) are also available on DLSite if you have a card without international purchase fees and want to save a few cents.
