Cool, he was at Animazement 4 years ago and I had him sign my Saint Seiya Bronze Saints wall scroll and I filmed his panel.

Neat little thing about his signings: he refuses to sign only his name, he requests that people give them their name so he can sign something TO them. That's really cool, wanting to give his fans something extra

I think everyone can agree that he is a living seiyu legend.
To be a voice actor since 60s, and still borrow his voice to rather young characters, it's sometimes hard to believe. |

i don't think this is unique to him, a lot of Japanese guests have a rule that all autographs has to be personalize. this prevents people from selling it. I personal am for it as it makes the true fans line up for autographs and not just the autographs hounds who are trying to make money. Heh...
He even LOOKS like what I'd expect Amuro Ray to look like now! Had no idea he was Tuxedo Mask. I was aware he played the boyfriend of the lead character in Paprika. As I understood it, the late Satoshi Kon was a HUGE fan of the original Mobile Suit Gundam and was thrilled to have Furuya voice a character in his film. He had him play that character with "Amuro's voice!" |
