Happy to see that DxD Hero is in the top 20

Hope that Hero is not the last anime adaption of the light novel and get many more anime seasons

Huh, Wotakoi 11 that high? It was my least favorite episode of the series. Really sad to see MHA 50 drop that much too, to me that was the best episode of the series.

There was some talk about this MHA episode rating over in the review thread for it, and it was likely that there were some shenanigans going on with this episode rating. Multiple posters suddenly saw the rating dip by a pretty large margin in a matter of minutes, so there was some speculation that someone wrote a script to tank it or something similar happened.

I'm always sad to see how poorly GeGeGe no Kitaro scores. It has consistenlly been one of the most entertaining shows each week. It also deals with mature issues like overwork and corruption. Perhaps people are ignoring Kitaro thinking it a "kids' show." If you think that watch episode seven or nine (they're pretty self-contained). You might change your mind. Toei's animation is consistently excellent as well.

Holy crap Darling in the Franxx has really lost it. I know I stopped watching it several episodes before cause I got really bored but damn I didn't expect a whole large bunch of people to do the same.

Also the Black Clover rankings amuse me. You can clearly see an increase in the episodes of which I'm assuming is the Yami vs Licht fight leading you to believe it may be steadily improving but after the fight it then slinks down & normalizes itself back to its usual low rankings. I'm assuming the common reaction was "There I watched the fight you all were hyping up so I'm done with this show now" or "This was the fight you all were hyping up? Man it did not live to the hype." or something to that effect.

I disagreed there. I really liked this episode of loving otakus, and gave mha a lower score than last weeks ultimate 5/5 showdown.

Thing is, this episode of mha was all talk and build-up for the future. There may be feels and stuff, but mha is ultimately about the action and that's what they do best. Episodes filled with nothing but talking just won't be done as well as in dramas and such. Build-up episodes are usually neccesary for greater moments later, but as stand alone episodes we can't expect them to be rated highly.

Wotakoi's last episode was in my view the funniest episode so far, while you also got a relationship development where miss packman started feeling like and wanting to be packman's girlfriend (instead of it just being a convenient "closer to friends" relationship). It was also exposed that packman had long and strong feelings for her, and that their relationship had matured a lot even though the things to symbolize it was truly trivial, which was a very mature way to broadcast it in the spirit of the show overall. Overall a great seasonal finish.

Unless you are suggesting people are rating it without watching it, I’m not sure how people dropping a show would decrease its rank. If anything that would tend to do the opposite, as the remaining users would on average rate the show higher than those who disliked it enough to drop it. I would say your second assumption of the reaction is incorrect as far as I can tell, as the average rating for episode 35 - which had the latter half of the Yami Licht fight and was well animated - was 4.3, which is more or less in line with the reviewer’s A rating. This is also an example where looking at the ratings is important to put the rankings in context, as while the ratings did decrease after 35, it was only from 4.3 to 4.1 to 4 (this week’s episode looks like it will go below that, but that review was just released today. Also, instead of assuming what the reaction was, one could perhaps look to see what it was. It’s not like we don’t have a thread for that show.

Did some clean up. People are allowed to not like a show and express that opinion provided they do so thoughtfully. Don't accuse others of being toxic simply because they have a different opinion than your own.
