well, if ISLAND anime is 13 episodes, the game will come out before the anime ends (13 episodes would put the finale 1 day into Fall). So that's fairly interesting. If it's 12 episodes it could still beat the game if they really push "summer". Hopefully it's out before the anime finishes...anime is kinda weak but the season is weak in general so I'll watch it until the game is available.

It's quite remarkable, TBH, since we've usually gotten the anime many years before getting an English-language version of the visual novel, if we ever get the VN translated at all. When I was researching a panel on "Whatever happened to visual novel anime", some of the few cases where I found them coming out in the same year were the result of the anime and/or the VN taking a long time to come over. The first ef VN came out in Japan in 2006 and the anime in 2007; we got both in 2012. Dies Irae's VN was released in Japan in 2007, but they took a decade to make an anime, which arrived alongside the Kickstarted English-language VN in 2017. So yeah, getting Island's VN in English before the anime finishes airing is likely unprecedented. |
