Didn't know what to expect going into this one but I really didn't see it as being a must watch of the season. After watching the first episode the word 'cosy' was definitely what sprang to mind, I can easily see myself sitting back relaxing and watching this week to week.

The setup seemed pretty obvious from the get go and if it follows the same formula for it's entire run I don't see myself being disappointed. Very breezy and enjoyable viewing so far.

First episode was alright, the second episode was just stupid and cringy.

I gave the first episode four stars, but the second one just two. I'm not used to having discrepancies this large from episode to episode.

I'm not interested in watching silly mysteries about jealous girls. I'm watching for the material on art and appraising. If episode two truly does point the way forward for this show, I won't be on board very long.

I have to admit that I found the first episode "mediocre", and considered dropping it even after just 5 minutes. Though the art and style was pretty soothing, I just couldn't figure out "what kind of show" this was meant to be. Then in the second episode it turned into a "mystery/crime that has to be solved"-type of show much more clearly from start to finish. The twist on the end also followed my exact thought pattern from the very beginning, though the guilty party (partly) escaped my scope until much later on, and it all had a Danganronpa kind of feel to it (except much more classy). If they continue the setup in the second episode then I'll stick around for this one, as it's quite rare in an anime format, though it works as a good frame for the 24 min episode format.

My suspicion is that the two will be intertwined as the series progresses - you know, like those cozy series where the detective is also a champion quilter or something and you learn about quilting in between investigations. It's not a genre for everyone. (Although my mother devours the suckers, albeit not the quilting ones. Smile) It's something I'm definitely going to be keeping an eye on in next week's episode review.

I'm still trying to decide if this is for me or not. I enjoy a good mystery, but these have been decidedly mediocre as well as lacking in solve-along clues for the audience. And the first half of the 3rd episode bored me to tears. I felt like the characters themselves were about to fall asleep during their conversation. Had that been the first episode, I would've bailed before they left the restaurant.

Even once the mystery got going, it was all so laid back it was hard to stay interested. There were a few flickering embers that showed promise, but too little and too emotionally detached to really catch fire. Which was weird, considering the subject matter. They had all the ingredients for an intriguing family drama, but it's like they lost the recipe and didn't know what to do with them. And why didn't we even get to see what the third scroll looked like? oO

For me I think the next episode is make or break time.

I found the timeline of this episode extremely implausible. The affair lasted for twenty years, and no one noticed? Did the husband know that Haruhiko was not his child? When and for how long? Did he forgive them after he was saved by the secretary? Who ended up owning the rest of the estate like the house? Are the five of them going to continue to live together knowing what has been revealed?

It's a bit annoying that I thought the best scenes in this episode were those between Aoi and Holmes before the mystery segment began. They, and their seiyuu, have a nice chemistry. At least we got some brief exposure to artworks this time around.

After 4 episodes it's clear this anime is not bad but it's not my thing. But holy shit, their exes and friends are the worst.

I guess this episode earned them a stay of execution. It at least got me to feel something. I was quite pleased when Kiyotaka rescued her and made her ex out himself in front of his new girlfriend. I wonder if they'll survive this trip. Good on Aoi if they don't.

That said, I'm not entirely loving Kiyotaka. He's a bit too smug for my tastes. And I'm not really in Aoi's corner either, so it makes it kind of hard to cheer on their relationship.

I agree on Kiyotaka, he needs to be taken down a notch, maybe screw up a mystery like in Hyouka or something. I like Aoi though, she's in a tough spot with the lack of friends in a new town as far as we've seen, and we still don't know how her home life has been going.

I find it hilarious how serious they try to make this Anime at times, but it just ends up looking stupid.

I actually kind of enjoyed this episode, but that was probably because they sidelined Aoi and I didn't have to deal with her drama. Looks like Akihito is going to be a permanent fixture. I guess that's ok - he's crazy annoying, but he also breathes some life into this, and he does seem to be trying to improve. Maybe things will pick up more now that Ensho has declared war.

I'm still not sure I get why the monk called in Kiyotaka in the first place, since he already knew what was going on.

Normally something needs to royally piss me off to make me drop a show this far into the season, but this anime just bores me out of my mind... pity because the original premise was really interesting.

there's also a major hint this week that Kiyotaka feels at least a little creepy being a college student with a crush on a high school girl.

Not to mention that he's her employer. Were he to confess and learn she doesn't reciprocate (though of course she does, because of course she does), it would make things very awkward at work.

I'm glad Aoi had her time to shine in the latest episode. Although at this point, I'm basically here for Ishikawa, Kimura, and the romance. And while I can appreciate Kiyotaka's inward struggle with his budding feelings, I'm not personally bothered by the situation/age gap. I'm looking forward to seeing how things go!
