They’re announcing the licensing of season 9? I would have thought they had it ages ago. Not that I care about dub only releases of anime anyway.

The fact that Pokémon Adventures is coming out digitally is huge though. I’ve read a fair bit of it in the past (not always legally) and I’ve wanted to support their release of the series, but I simply don’t have the space to keep physical books. If I can get the series digitally, then I’d be all over that.

I'm assuming they just mean they'll be releasing Battle Frontier in a single box set. Viz released the season in 2 box sets around a decade ago, and to my knowledge that release never went OOP.

Castlevania is not an anime; it's an American cartoon. It shouldn't even be advertised on ANN.

Except the Castlevania series was created and developed by Japanese creators at a Japanese gaming company, Konami.
ANN reports on subjects that have ties to Japan. Not just anime.

Viz did release Battle Frontier years ago. This is them announcing it's getting a rerelease, since they've been gradually rereleasing all the old seasons of Pokemon in order.

I just wish they also had it with the Japanese version for Pokémon. It’s really not worth getting it dub only.

I feel like it would have made more sense for Viz to wait until after season two to release Castlevania on BD since the first season is only four episodes long and ends on kind of a cliffhanger and i'd prefer to buy all 12 episodes at once.

Hi, Managing Editor here. MasterKingJC is correct. This is why we also report on the live-action Detective Pikachu film, and the Mega Man: Fully Charged animated series. If it's based on a Japanese-produced anime, manga, or video game franchise, we write about it.

And note that for things like Castlevania and Mega Man: Fully Charged, we don't refer to them as "anime" but as "animated series" or "animated show." We're fully aware they're not anime.

You're right Veniamin, there should be an Subtitled version of Pokemon. And yes, the Sun & Moon release should be Dual-Audio.
