This arc never really gave my final arc vibes but ok. As long as he wraps the story up in a conclusive way then im cool with it. No need to drag a story out.

Quote:
He noted that he had the ending planned since the beginning of the manga and that he plans to give it an ending worthy of a shōnen magazine.

Good to know he had it planned out, some aurthors dont even think past the first arc lol. And guaranteed epic final battle.

Quote:
In addition, he said that any plans for a sequel to the manga will depend upon the magazine's editors. He noted that it is possible his next work may be a baseball manga.

Depending on what the sequal is i could be down for it and a baseball manga could also be interesting to see.

Personally this whole arc has screamed "final arc" for a while now. From everything that was set up since the beginning, is coming to a head now. I hope it is a satisfying conclusion, people need to remember that just because it is "planned" doesn't mean it will be good.

There are 33 volumes.
New volumes come out every 3 month.
40 - 33 = 7
7 * 3 = 21 months

21 months =/= 1 year.

Ok.

Well, he said " 'about a year, after about 40 volumes' ", and not "Exacly a year".
As far as I know, 21 months are 1 year and 9 months. What exactly is off?
Still is less than 2 years, so "about a year" is totally fine.

As much as I would've loved for it to continue, I was prepared for this kind of news at some given point. With a lot of series ending, it's getting a little tough to find something new. I'm not that into sports so it's unfortunate that I probably won't check out his possible baseball manga.

Wow I’ve been wondering when it was going to end. At least we’ve been given a time window so we can brace ourselves for the final arc. I enjoy when authors are transparent with their plans for how they see their series ending. I hope he has a very enjoyable last stretch with this great series.

Except you are wrong: new volumes come out every 2 months, not 3. Cool

7x2 = 14 months

Ok.

Except NnT volume release ain't like most weekly shonen series. Its usually each 2 months (with only once in a while being 3 months between volumes, example: vol30 - Feb, vol31 - Apr, vol32 - Jun, vol33 - Aug - that's each 2nd month, not each 3rd). So mostly it's 2 months:
7 * 2 = 14 months.

That's due to the manga usually do 20 pages per chapter, compared to other series usually having 17 or 19 pages. Also often have double chapters or extra pages chapters in the magazine. There are also other sin gaidens to come out. Extra chapters that are also put into vols to fill pages.

Now add to that, that most chapters don't instantly get put into a volume and the series will end before the final volume is out (which will likely come out 1-2 months after the manga ends). And subtracting 1-2 months from the "14 months" thing, is does make like around a year. But definitely ain't 21 months as you calculated.

Where can I find the information from the original source? I refer to the site where the magazine '' Da Vinci '' revealed this, can't it be found online?

Good to see it will get a proper end.

With that size run, I wonder if we can hope for a full 3rd season and a few OVAs to have the anime complete the manga.
