Is it wrong that I think this looks hilarious?

I was referring to the golden 'all live action adaptations are trash' rule that several communities impose.

It helps that this is directed by Fukuda who mostly made good adaptations, like Blue Blazes, Nietzsche in the Convenience Store and Hentai Kamen. Also made Hero Yoshihiko which is pretty hilarious.

>Sigh< I really have to watch the first live-action Gintama film this weekend.
My backlog is only a decade long!
I used to be able to keep up much better with this stuff but there's literally too much coming out now and you already have to be picky and screen out things.
The first film STILL looked interesting to me, like it had something besides fighting.

And they have done decent live-action adaptations more recently. I felt the first Rurouni Kenshin film was excellent (still have to watch the rest of the trilogy) and I liked the live-action Space Battleship Yamato. I also felt the first live-action Cutie Honey feature (2004, directed by Hideaki Anno) was a worthy entry in the Cutie Honey series.

(The second Cutie Honey live-action feature film was generic sci-fi garbage that had almost nothing to do with the core Cutie Honey storylines...)

They have picked up the quality a bit. Live-action's still not as good as most anime, for sure, and you can usually tell the real stinkers from a mile away.
Dragonball sure hasn't had a good live-action film done yet!
