Very similar to the Solo: A Star Wars Movie logo.

And we all know how well that did.

Hey now this movie isn’t a superflous prequel to an iconic if overrated film series, pushed by a greedy movie studio, that also has one of if not the most toxic fanbases in existence, while having to go through a cycle of development hell.

Justice Smith made that really weird "The Get Down" series work, it'll be cool to see him here if he's allowed to be as expressive

I know that this is just the logo but honestly I think it looks good. I'm glad they kept the international Pokémon logo, and while the "Detective Pikachu" part is different from the game's cover it still looks nice. Much better than the logo for the Sonic movie.
While I still have my doubts I have some faith in this movie, I think I'm gonna see once it hits theatres.

They'd better not screw this up. The only way they'll be able to make this a good movie is if it doesn't take itself too seriously *cough*Dragon Ball: Evolution*cough*
I could see Ryan Reynolds trying to insert some of his Deadpool snark into the movie with lines like these...
"Ever see The Great Mouse Detective? Spoiler alert..."
"You’re probably thinking, “My boyfriend said this was a video game movie but that guy in the detective suit just turned that other guy into Japanese barbecue!” Well, this ain't no game. This is a case. And yeah, technically, this is a love story. But some of the best love stories start with a case. And that’s exactly what this is, a love story. And to tell it right… I gotta take you back to long before I became a Basil of Baker Street wannabe.”

I still have high hopes for this movie considering that one of the writer to Guardians of the Galaxy is writing it, and although he's not working on it any more, Alex Hirsch did some of the previous drafts. Combine that with Ryan Reynolds, I would be extremely surprised if it wasn't tongue and cheek... I mean come on there was already a joke about this movie in Honest Trailers: Deadpool 2!
