This throws Riku for a loop – he can't recall ever having had that vehement a reaction before, and while he's not sure he likes it, he definitely appreciates Ten's honesty in saying it.


It feels like I have seen this situation a number of times to the point I think it has become a trope.

Otherwise I would give this manga a try down the road. I wonder why the name of this story is "Shortcake Cake." Perhaps down the line I would get an idea.
