so umm... how is this gonna work? i mean we're dealing with like 50 different licenses here. i imagine there will be creative differences.

That's not going to be a problem, since it's Original Generation all of the characters are Banpresto Originals so there's no issue there. I'm really excited about this, and what's with OG suddenly exploding? First we got the OVA, then both GBA games are coming stateside, then OG gets a PS2 release and NOW we're getting an OG series. Certainly no complaints here. I'm glad that this time we'll get to follow Ryusei and the SRX team. I didn't really care for Kyosuke too much (he seemed to be the OVAs focus). Anyway since it's a series hopefully some of the characters who got slided in the OVA (like Kusuha) will finally get to shine in the spotlight a little bit. Maybe if we're really lucky we'll even get to see Banpreois animated. We'll just have to wait and see though, I'd really like to see Touma but he probably won't be in the series since he's new blood. In any case this is great news. |

Koji Kabuto is gonna be the main character sorta right. Since i have only seen a couple of videos of the games and the Mazinger bots get a lot of lime light.

No, he won't. This is the ORIGINAL GENERATION series, which means it features the robots and characters that Banpresto created for the SRW games. There might be one or two well-known robots making a cameo, but that's a "maybe" at most.

Actually, I am pretty sure that none of the other anime licensed stuff will be making an appearance.
This anime follows the storyline of the SRW OG games, with Ryuusei Date and the SRX team (which is totally awesome, I love Ryuusei) as the main characters. That's right. No Gundams. No Getter or Mazinger. No Eva. Just original Banpresto characters that made appearances in the various games. One thing I'm curious is, how far of the story are they going to cover? I don't think Touma will be in it, because the most they will cover will be the OG2 story. And OG2 only has characters up to SRW Alpha 2 for the PS2...not Alpha 3. |

I don't care much for the SRX crew, but I expect the others to get plenty of screentime, so I look forward to this all the same. I hope it's better than the OVA.
I'm especially hoping they don't repeat the horror that was the Bartools in this ("hey these totally out of place 3D robots look GREAT!"), but looking at the credits available thus far on Gunota, it's interesting to note that Ichiro Itano is listed as "CG advisor/special director". Just take a look at his past credits. Yes. Yesssss. |

ah man, tho i saw a game trailer, sweet looking.
anyways, my complaint x_x waaa the original game had such an awesome spoiler[lesbian couple] ah well trully better than some of the latest anime attempting the genre mm, strife and victory ^^ hehe who needs angst? |

so far from what I've seen from various sorces...seems like this series is gonna be a retelling of SRWOG 1, focusing on Ryuusei and Team SRX, though sorces do say Shuu will get some more screen time. *chuckles* if Shuu is involved that means Masaki Ando isn't too far behind.

But wasn't the first SRWOG series have Kyosuke as a main character? Wait... or was it someone else, but I thik the main storyline still focused around him. Haha Im getting things mixed up, ever since Altizen came out I basically make that my main mecha and ignore the actual main character.

You're probably thinking of the OVA. The OVA was ok but it was way too short to really get anything accomplished other than the "Oh my God (insert character/mecha here) is animated!" factor.
