But no Japanese dub? Oh well! I would imagine this would be an exciting time for anyone who likes Dinosaur King.

It's an edited children's dub. You're not going to get the Japanese version to work with that.

If the dub sets sells well, who knows. Discotek is the company that put out English subbed releases of Monster Rancher and Samurai Pizza Cats. They need to see that the show is popular enough among fans not just looking for the dub to warrant subtitling it.

Especially since last time that dub got released, it did so bad that Shout avoided touching anime for a few years.

I remember this show from when I was like 13. It was alright, but nothing that memorable. Supposedly, it was one of 4Kids’ more faithful dubs. Good cast with Veronica Taylor and Rachael Lillis sort of reprising their roles as Ash and Jessie from Pokémon, just as different characters. I didn’t think there was much of a market for this show at all, and I kinda forgot about it. I still remember 4Kids’ theme song though, but they always had memorable theme songs. It sounded very 80s. I do remember finding the Japanese theme song on YouTube and enjoying that too. I seriously doubt anyone is really clamoring for the whole show in Japanese though. There’s very little appeal in this show outside kids, and it’s not well-remembered enough to be a nostalgia catch. I think the original DVD release was the first time I saw Shout! Factory’s name, and now they’re a huge part of my collection.

Sweet, good to know the date for Blu-ray release of Gold of Babylon and Hells now. : )

I watched a couple of episodes of the dub, and it was pretty entertaining to say the least. It's probably not too far off from the intended script. I imagine the Japanese version preaches more about friendship as these types of shows are wont to do.

The Pizza Cats situation was a little unusual. I remember Discotek releasing the sub version before the dub, because the licensor didn't have the dub tapes. It took a while for Discotek to track them down. More recent shows like Dinosaur King and Sonic X may have dub masters that are available from the licensor in Japan.

I don't see why not as it's not like the case with Pokémon (with concerning that it's an "edited children's dub. The idea of Discotek waiting to see if there is enough interest to warrant a release of the Japanese dub is something I understand). Besides, I am not too eager to see a Japanese dub of Dinosaur King.

Nice! Smile I have seen a couple of episodes myself, or a few. I do not recall seeing many episodes of the show while it was on TV, but unlike your case it never click with me as much. Also, as for the U.S dub being close to the script as the Japanese dub I can kind of see it being a possibility I am kind of skeptical being the anime was handle by 4kids.
