Yes, even as someone who didn't anal-retentively obsess over the "animation quality" on Season 1 to the exclusion of every single other discussion, gotta say, the S2 design's been...pretty bad so far. Shocked

As if the Japanese studios are too predisposed to considering Kemono-Mania as a generic product of "cute girls" for the obvious audience, rather than the quirky qualities that grabbed the audience the first time.
I'm not defending Tatsuki to the last gasp, but his designs' cuteness at least had a little more personality, and didn't overdo it.

(Looks like they threw out continuing Tatsuki's "Across the sea" storyline from the end of the first season, too, unless the stage plays covered that.)

Kill those new designs with fire.

Oh man. It just keeps getting worse. Kemono Friends has been always right up my alley but as a CGDCT extremist, even I have my limits. This is just terrible.

If I were to own a popular item of intellectual property—albeit at the chagrin of its creators and fans—it would make little sense to start making cosmetic changes. Surely this would only weaken the last remaining strands of goodwill.
