I hardly said a word about the actual anime, itself. Up until that time, there had never been an anime about gigantic robots battling these mysterious monsters invading the planet, while at the same time focusing on what was going on in the minds of the main characters.

*cough* Macross *cough*

Macross doesn't fit that description at all.

Macross doesn't even come close. I can't think of a series that delved that deeply into the minds of the main characters. The invasion from space, and the giant robots on earth fighting them isn't new though.

When Evangelion was screening, I never once mentioned King Records on any of the LDs or CDs or commercials that were available at the time.

The only thing I ever talked about when I was selling Evangelion was the director, Hideaki Anno. I backed him to the hilt and asked Anno-san to express himself as a director.
Hmm, so he never mentioned Studio's or any of the backers. Only the anime and the director(who is an artist) are what he chose to sell the product. What a novel idea.

Looks like things have changed a bit. I would say that if you want to sell a product, you would only talk about the product in which you intend to sell. And no, I am not wanting things to be as they used to be(not like I could anyway). But if I were a business I would use the above model to the hilt. It just makes more sense you know. Selling a product you, only talk about your product, your backers will get theirs in due time, they know that, that is why they are backing you. No need to bring them in from the very beginning.

So I guess what grabbed my eye in this was, yeah I would do it like that, that makes sense.
