Bad news to hear about this today....
Regardless, it was a nice experience while it lasted. Wonder what titles will be removed soon from both libraries. I guess we'll hear them in the months to come.

I’m mixed. I’m glad FUNimation’s out, as their releases have always been poor, and they’ve done a poor job with these titles as well; but it’s undortuante as there’s no definitive answer on who will get what. While I’d like SnetaiRoll to be a thing, I’m not sure if it could work out.
Plus, for international fans, you’re screwed. The UK is screwed. There’s been some in-depth explanations as to why posted elsewhere, but man- it’s a mess.

So wait, Crunchyroll left Sentai for Funimation. Afterwards, Sentai went with Amazon. Amazon stops focusing on anime, leaving Sentai in the dust; Funimation is bought by Sony, which leaves Crunchyroll in the dust, and now Crunchyroll and Sentai are together again? What a merry go round.
I like Sentai more than Funimation, so this is a positive to me at least. I can see why some would be disappointed since Funimation owns the rights to many classic shows though.

Dang it, Sony! Why are you messing with a good thing (well, good for most American fans)?
I wonder what this will mean for the licensing and dubbing of future anime.
HiDive is a nice addition to VRV, though.

Damn this sucks I knew this was going to happen but I thought it would be latter rather then sooner. Also I wonder this will be another travesty like Amazon , from the comments I'm seeing on Facebook and other social media sites people are really salty about this.

Well, I guess I better get to watching all the Funimation shows on Crunchyroll that I want to watch before they get pulled.

It was honestly only a matter of time once the Sony acquisition was announced. Being owned by rival companit's wasn't going to fly, no matter how advantageous it was to the consumer.
The part about some titles possibly disappearing from both also reminds me of what happened to Milky Holmes after the ill-fated Funimation/NicoNico partnership.

To be fair when Sony snapped Funi up we all knew this was gonna happen sooner or later. The only thing that bothers me is having to start up another subscription again *sigh*.
At least Sentai can get Food Wars Third Plate now.

I am really not looking forward to seeing how this turns out for companies in Australia that have to work with this mess to license stuff here.

Oof. Oof, oof, oof. We got all these anime spread across funimation, crunchyroll, netflix, amazon, viz, hidive. I friggin give up. I'm going back to [pirating]. I'll be paying 50 dollars a month to have access to everything at this point. I like dubs. Doesnt matter who dubs it as long as the quality is decent. I have a feeling dozens of good yet obscure anime are going to be falling through the cracks because of this. Hope you all have your favorite titles on blu ray, my fellow weebs. I miss the days where 99% of anime just went to funi and crunchyroll.

I am quite sure this did not end "amicably". Usually when companies say "amicably" they usually mean ended with much "animosity".
So, I assume for western anime fans this means either less selection or rather no more one stop shopping to watch anime in one place, and that western fans will now need to subscribe to more services? One of the largest issues anime has always faces whether in the streaming age, or in the DVD age was a target demographic with very limited spending power.
Well, I guess if the industry likes to whine before about piracy and loss of revenue, ending content sharing arrangements like this will give the industry a lot more groaning rights.

Yup, I see where you're coming from. As an 80's fansubber, I hear these exact same rumblings in the shadows of Reddit and the chans as I type this. Living in Japan now, (with a US IP for my VPN so my grandkids can watch English subs while visiting here) I can personally get by fine watching all my anime in Japanese, but when my grandkids and great grandkids go back to the states (or are here too), it won't be quite so easy for them to watch their favorite shows.
EDIT: Clarity

I think the titles that'll most likely be removed are probably the shows Crunchyroll had Funimation dub for them
or maybe some Aniplex shows...

And now I gotta redo my budget.
Every Tom, Dick and Harry wants to start a service and it’s only gonna get worse. Looking at you DC Universe. If it means you die Young Justice can go right back to being cancelled.

Remember when they said nothing was going to change when they first announced the buy out .
