That is amazing. Surprised It shows that sometimes to find answers to problems one has to look outside of it.

I think this will be a prime candidate for ANN's "Top Ten Most WTF ANN Headlines for 2018".

I want to watch haruhi but i don't the order and the suggestions on the internet just confuse me...
Can some one tell me the best order in which i'll get the most enjoyment out of the anime/story?
(please use the titles of the anime/season from my anime list)

True. When I first read the title, I was like "Are you guys serious?", and it turns out they are being serious.

Click on the "Column D" tabs in the two seasons' episode lists on Wikipedia:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_The_Melancholy_of_Haruhi_Suzumiya_episodes

Then, watch the movie.

This allows you to watch the episodes in the chronological order that the characters experienced them, which is the least confusing way to go through the story.

I made this for myself in 2016 for the 10-year- anni.

Code:
Haruhi order with S2 mixed in (2009 Broadcast Order)
S1.2,3,5,10,13,14,4
S2: 1
S1: 7,6,8
S2:   2-14  (Endless Eight only requires episode 3,4 and 10)
S1:   1,12,11,09
Movie

Going by Episode titles:

Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu I
Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu II
Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu III
Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu IV
Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu V
Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu VI
Suzumiya Haruhi no Taikutsu
Sasa no Ha Rapusodi
Misuterikku Sain
Kotou Shoukougun (Zenpen)
Kotou Shoukougun (Kouhen)
Endless Eight
Endless Eight
Endless Eight
Endless Eight
Endless Eight
Endless Eight
Endless Eight
Endless Eight
Suzumiya Haruhi no Tameiki I
Suzumiya Haruhi no Tameiki II
Suzumiya Haruhi no Tameiki III
Suzumiya Haruhi no Tameiki IV
Suzumiya Haruhi no Tameiki V
Asahina Mikuru no Bouken Episode 00
Live Alive
Iteza no Hi
Someday in the Rain

Suzumiya Haruhi no Shoushitsu

I basically see no reason NOT to watch it chronologically. It makes the most sense this way. You can watch it on "Broadcast order" just to experience it that way if you want but I don't see any major benefits in doing so.

I had the same problem with Haruhi for years. I heard so many contradicting opinions what order to watch the episodes in that I got annoyed and decided to ignore the series altogether. Anyway, this year I finally gave in and watched the show on Crunchyroll where the episodes were in chronological order.

I ended up liking the series, although watching every single episode of Endless Eight was a mistake in retrospect (I had heard the horror stories, but I wanted an authentic experience and at first spotting the slight differences in the episodes was kinda fun. However by the time I got to the fifth one I was starting to lose my sanity).

I also watched The Disappearance of Haruhi Surumiya, which was a very good movie. Watching the TV series first is an absolute must to follow the movie, though.

Overall I do recommend checking out the series and watching it chronologically, then watching the movie. But when you get to Endless Eight arc, I strongly suggest you only watch the first and last episode of the arc for the sake of your sanity.

This is probably my favorite anime story of the year. And yes, it looks like the professional mathematician community has indeed started referring to it as "The Haruhi Sequence".

You have to get the first two of Endless Eight, and the Last to get every important detail. So almost half of it, really.

I would also watch Six or Seven, so yes, half. BTW, the second time I watched it I did watch all of Endless Eight. The only way to do that keep reasonably sane is to try and find all the changes between the episodes.

when a random 4chan poster solves soemthign on a whim in a short period f time....

really makes you question why some people bother using years when someoen can come along later nand figure it out.

Assuming 21 minutes per episode (I'm guessing you'd be fine to skip the OPED's before long), it would take a bit over 3,748,518 years of non-stop binging to actually watch the Haruhi Sequence.
