I never thought I would be gaga over puppet shows. Season One nailed me to the floor. Season Two is looking good also.

This series is the best thing made in the art world in the 21st century. No book, sculpture, movie, painting, play, dance, song, etc. comes close.

The gushing is so on point and well deserved Very Happy

Personally, it's the best anime show of the season even though it is not drawn animation but puppetry animation. The wuxia tropes are well accounted for too.

No mention about that one guy's epic half-minute long nervous sweat seizure?

Anyways, I think what make the series work so well so far is the obviously huge amounts of fun the entire production team is having and their ability to somehow meld the drama and camp together cohesively.

Yandere Lang was so much fun! Anime smile

Speaking of Lang, if his 'evil detection meter' is so sensitive, it must be a real pain to associate with anybody or mingle in the crowd. No wonder he clings to Shang so much.

Agree so hard with the whole article. I'm glad someone else is as captivated as I am by the glasses. Megane isn't my trip normally, so I don't usually care one way or the other if a character wears glasses (except maybe Jin in Champloo), but I'm 100% enthralled by miniatures, and the detail in those glasses makes me swoon. And they even do the push-the-glasses-up thing perfectly! That's some fine motor control from the puppeteer.

So 1) are we ever going to be able to buy this on BD, and 2) where the hell are the scale figures for this? We've only got two Nendoroids so far, neither of them the lead character! I need those costumes in scale detail!!! Is Good Smile blocking other figure makers? If so, then why aren't they spamming us with all the characters as Nendos? If I knew it was all we'd ever get, I'd settle for that.

As Gabriella put it so eloquently: Puppets! Puppets! Puppets! Puppets! Puppets! Puppets! Puppets! Puppets! Puppets! Puppets! Puppets! Puppets! Puppets! Puppets!!!

Best show of the season, hands down! I didn't expect to love s2 even more than s1 but i already do. The puppets are even more gorgeous, the plot is intriguing and sassy lute is best boy! Very Happy

Shang is getting a nendoroid from Good Smile, not sure on the release date. It was announced back around July 28th this year. I have the vape-wiz nendoroid, but skipped the villain

The only BDs out there are from Japan and Taiwan, it seems no other publishers think it worthwhile to release, sadly.

I really don't know what the production committee is thinking. There has been no re-release of any of the nendos (all two of them). Were they selling so badly?
