Why are the anime designs so... realistic? I thought the cute and simple style of the manga would have been a dream to animate since it would be hard to make it look off-model.

My first reaction was also " this ain't Hitori bocchi's art ! " but change in design are frequent for 4koma adaptation and rarely bad. Actually, i might like this one better, i just hope that it will not change the cute atmosphere the manga has.
