I'm a little disappointed we didn't get a new Medabots anime. With all the anniversary reboots happening now, this would be a good time for it.

Maybe an anime adaptation of the upcoming smartphone game is in the works.

ADV licensed the series in North America, and Nelvana produced a dub for the first series, which aired in the Fox Kids network in 2001, before moving to ABC Family. Medabots Spirits aired on ABC Family in 2003.


The first anime was actually based on Medarot 2, with Damashii loosely inspired by the third game.

I feel like I've said this before, but ADV did not at any time hold the license to the series. They were given home video rights by Nelvana for season 1, the show's actually licensee. That's how Shout! Factory later re-released part of the show through their Nelvana library deal.
