As if this is the scalper's fault. PROPERLY SUPPLY STORES FOR HIGHLY DESIRED ITEMS.
Nintendo is the only company that both knows how huge a product Pokemon is AND doesn't take advantage of its popularity at all. It's the reason why Pokemon Go wasn't as profitable as it could've been and why their classic consoles make only a tenth of their possible profits.
there is no advantage to creating artificial scarcity for Nintendo merchandise.

Why are you guys blaming Nintendo, you did read the article right? Tamagotchi is the one that announced the collaboration, they're the ones distributing the item.

And it is the fault of scalpers. Don't blame the companies for the predatory acts of certain people.

I'm not at all surprised that this happened. I am a little bummed out, because the one site that I was going to try and order the Eevee tamagotchi from sold out of preorders VERY quickly.
