Looking good so far. Always good to see fantasy anime where at least one of the main characters isn't a child or teenager or looks like one.

But what if they act like children? Oh my god dreams crushed and everything is ruined!

No seriously I'll never get the people obsessed with age on here. Maybe you just want an adult character and sure that's fine I guess, but the average person I run into that acts like this wants a character they can personally relate to, which for some reason can only be an adult. For many this character also has to be a man because there's no way you could possibly relate to the woes of a woman? It's super strange in my opinion. Even more so when you factor in most anime characters are Japanese, which is a factor that these type of people miss for some reason. Oh you personally relate to a Japanese man? Often living in Tokyo his entire life? Very interesting...and you're from Kentucky? Born and raised? I see.

It just seems so silly, I think people should relate to a character on an empathetic level. If a character makes us feel emotions and the like it shouldn't matter what gender, race, age they are. It shouldn't even matter if they're human or not. A well written character should make just about everyone feel, that's what people should really strive for when looking for a series. Instead of a purely visual bias that's extremely shallow and only skin deep.

Also there's the factor of again looking your age and acting your age. Some people even IRL look a lot younger than their age, there are kids that act more like adults than most adults. With art there's also styles that just make the characters look younger or older than they actually are. Which I don't think is a bad thing personally.

I think this series looks fun, but the main characters to me just look like the average Fujoshi bishi power couple. I'm not saying that's a bad thing, just that they aren't revolutionary, but they look fine. The red haired guy looks like he acts childish and goofs off, in this Sci-Fi space setting he's probably similar to say Starlord or Captain Kirk. While the white haired guy is probably up tight and keeps things going, similar to Gamora or Spock. They'll likely have a lovable dynamic that contrasts each other. Perfect for a ship and the fan fiction practically writes itself.

Sorry for rambling, if anyone read this entire comment and understands where I'm coming from just know that I appreciate you.

Nah, that is actually more fun to me. There's enough series with drama and adulting adults, so it's nice if a more light hearted one has a more childish character.

I don't use the forums here much, so I've never seen anyone say anything about age yet. Or do you mean in general and not specifically in this site?

I just commented because it gets tiring, after a while, to have so many anime, manga and games with nothing but kids everywhere even when it involves really important positions and missions (I do read a lot of shounen, so I guess there's that too, can't really complain). At least a more diverse group is nice.
Specially when it's often obvious the only reason the characters are kids is for young readers to relate and so that there is more drama because puberty.

I still think around 30 is still pretty eh and common. I''m still hoping for anime with older people. It's like you have to be under a certain age to ever be involved in anything worth writing about.

I'm mostly talking about ridiculous anime discrepancies like a 40+ year old woman who looks like a teenager (or someone over 20 who looks 10), and all those demons/other races/whatever excuse to make sure everyone looks like a toddler but are really 2000 years old. Not just a baby face.
I think the opposite is silly too - when they make teenage or preteen kids look older so they can be "sexy".

Personality never really went into my comment. But I do find it silly sometimes when people try really hard to make really young kids way too deep or powerful or talented for their age - they just really want the characters to be a kids, so they make everyone into a genius.

Of course IRL there's all types of people, so geniuses exist, 30 year olds who look 16 exist (my friend is one - teacher who gets mistaken for his students), and there's 13 year old girls with D cups. But that's hardly the majority of people and that's everywhere in anime, so it does get old at some point.

They do, unfortunately. I'm hoping that the rest will make up for it, but they definitely do.

You wrote in response to my comment, so I did read it all. And I don't really understand that well, but I guess you probably had to deal with enough people bitching about it for it to get old.

^ both of these make good points.

Personally, from shows I like, I've noticed that a few have high schoolers as main characters - Code Geass, Marginal #4, Kamigami no Asobi - but none of them are from the point of view of high school. They're all from the point of, if not older characters, then at least more mature/experienced ones, like Lelouch (who had to carry his sister through a war zone when he was 10... yeah...).

StarMyu is from the point of view of high school, but that's a different kind of high school.

Alive was high school when it started, but they've all graduated now.

... but yeah, this show looks like BL Space Dandy, basically. I watch... pretty much only pretty-boy shows, but these guys aren't my type.

Has anyone here seen Space Battleship Tiramisu, by the way? I want to see the stage play, because this one actor I really like is in it.

I don't really know the others you mentioned, but things like Code Geass are different, because it makes sense for the characters to be there and act like they do since it deals with war, nobility, and characters who have been involved in it all since early childhood. And nevertheless, they still do act very much like their age, even if they aren't innocent or naive.

There's plenty of stories like that, and I have nothing against it.
The ones that (sometimes) irks me a bit (but I will still read/watch if I like it) are stories where it's quite obvious the only reason the character is a child is because the author wanted them to be. Where there's no justification why a child was given such an important position, or why they are so powerful etc or why even though the story is dealing with things that affect a huge part of society there's no adults in sight or the adults that are around leave all the actual work to the kids.
And even then, they only irk me because of the sheer amount of them.

Man, this is one big summary. It has basically revealed on what's going to happen in first episode. But the anime looks interesting so I'm going to check out.

If there is a woman or man that is a 100+ but they have the body of a 20-something, that is fan service I don't find creepy.
