Was the article in english or Japanese, because the link is not working. Just goes to a page not found or unavailable. The article might not allow direct links.

If you are having the same problem with the direct-link and are interested in the article, just go to the front page of the website you can click-through there.

EDIT:
Pretty good interview, the guy actually sounds like someone I would like to work for. Of course you can never tell by these interviews, but assuming he was being completly honest, I would say so.

To me it sounds like he wants a stable overseas market, so that he can take more risks domestically. Which makes sense because although you may have some flops, you may find that one break-away hit that sweeps the nation. And you can't take those kind of risks when a string of flops could put you in the poor house. But if you are always making money from a one market, you can take the risks without the heavy heart.

TMS is going to start producing series specifically for the American market?

But they already did over a decade ago... have they already forgotten The Mighty Orbots? Laughing

(Yes, they also did a lot of the animation for series like Tiny Toon Adventures, Pinky and the Brain, and Animaniacs, but, in those cases, it was simply subcontract work. On The Mighty Orbots, the Japanese production team actually had some creative input.)
