Cure Waffle was popular in Japan, but I do not know how popular Pretty Cure is in the west. I did not think it aired in America. People probably don't know about him. I wonder how girls would feel about boys taking over the roles. Female Super Sentai members are unpopular with little boys, but older men love them so there is merchandise for them aimed at adult fans, but they rarely get toys about them. Would girls buy toys of boy precures? I don't know. Adult women might. |

That didn't stop Seiren, Ha-chan or Ciel. Or even Milk. Or aliens like Eas, MakoP, Aguri, Hime, Towa. Hikari doesn't have quite a human origin either. |

Girls can watch sentai shows and boys can watch Precure. Little boys can watch Precure and feel like they can be a Precure just like the girls can. It's much better for anyone to want to be a Precure than to want to be a "boy show" character. The makers of Precure are definitely savvy enough, though - they'll keep it to one (token) boy per season, or actively go after the fujo audience. Anyway. Cure Teruma and Cure Kakerun~ |

Tarte will always be the best male Cure than Henri will ever be. Even boys who are Pretty Cure fans don't want boys in the series to become Pretty Cures. This decision is going to damage his career.
