On one hand I am glad this film got license as I have been interested in seeing this film since watching the trailers a while back, but on the other hand I am quit bum that the movie is not going to be screen anywhere close to where I live. However since the movie is license it means it's getting a home release at some point to I would have to wait to see it then.

Keep checking the website... ElevenArts often adds more theaters after the first announcement. I hope they add more in Seattle. I want to see this, but I'm not sure I want to brave Fri U-district traffic. It's bad enough trying to find parking on the weekends. When we went over to Seattle to see Liz and the Blue Bird at the same theater, it took almost an hour (on a Sunday!) to find parking. |

Good luck with that. Almost 20 years ago I lived a block north, at 53rd & Brooklyn, rented a room for about 6 months until I got tired of the place. Even when U-Dub was in session weekends were fine for parking that far north. Then, I guess in about '06 they put in some new apartments on The Ave just south of 50th with no in-building parking and now the tenants are taking all the street parking away from the businesses. |

Saw it at New York Comic con - anime expo thing they had, it was pretty good, very interesting.

If we're lucky, it'll come over here to the Peninsula or some other place more reasonable. If worst comes to worst I'll probably just skip it as Penguin isn't high on my list, and the Grand Illusion isn't my favorite venue... The only reason I put up with it for Liz was because I would have sold body parts to see it. |

Okay! Thanks!  I just check this morning and nothing has change so far, but I will keep checking the website. If the movie does not become available where I live I can always read the novel it's base on. I just learn from re-checking this article (although I might have known of this a while back but forgotten) that Yen Press has license the novel and it would be publish on the same month the movie is being screened.
First off, I take it you must really like Sound! Euphonium to want to see it's spin off movie. Either that or the film itself must have been that captivating for you to want to see badly. Secondly, oh wow! O_O That must had been hell to deal with. Did you miss part of the movie because of this, or you arrived as early as you could? |

This is one film I definitely want to see!
I've skipped the last two in the area mainly because the subject content didn't interest me THAT much. This just looks crazy but hopefully in a way that still has a story. |

Yes, I'm a huge fan of Euph! We got their early partly because I knew there'd be problems with parking (we've been to that theater before), and partly because that's how the ferry schedule worked out. |

I saw this in cinemas last year during it's run in Australia. I guess I'm dense and don't get what the penguins and everything else is supposed to be a metaphor for, but everything was so beautifully animated, it was very enjoyable, except...
...unrelated to the film itself, when I did see it at the cinemas, a group of loud noisy kids, maybe 12-16 years old, piled into the row in front of me and spend a lot of time playing with their mobile phones, talking loudly and walking up and down the row. While the film was gorgeous, the actions of those unruly kids really ruined the experience for me. My wild guess is that they saw a poster for an animated film and thought it was just going to be some light kids flick, but the film Penguin Highway was relatively long and that group of kids were either bored by it or just not interested by the lack of action and car chases. Something people might want to consider before taking their kids to see it. |

I see. I have been meaning to check out this series, but I have yet to get around to it.
Sorry to hear that.  I went through a similar problem a month ago when me and my sister went out to watch Studio Ponac's Modest Heroes, except the only different being the people look to be in their late teens (perhaps early adulthood). I wanted to go report them to the staff, but I did not want to miss out on the movie. I thought of also shushing them, but I was to shy to do so. Besides my sister told me it would be best not to so I do not risk getting in conflict with them. At the end we decided to move father away from them.
As to whether parents should consider taking their children to see this film or not I guess it would be a good idea to take into consideration of their chidren's taste before they take them to see this movie (although personally my younger self would not have mind seeing this movie). However it would not be an excuse to allow children to behave the way those people you mention did in theaters. If they do not understand how to act in a movie theater then they should not go at all until they learn otherwise. |
