Wow, getting a tad ridiculous isn't it, basically trying to pretend the guy never existed now, even in the west. I know it's how they do things but sheesh, then again I've always been the sort to separate the person from their roles they play so.... Shocked

It's a shame but no way around it in Japan. Just glad there's no delay or cancellation. Let's hope the new actor is good.

They were gonna have to do something about their version of the game no matter what, so it's easy to implement those changes in our version from day one. There's no way they'd just stop selling a game that was only available a few months if they had any hopes for more sequels.

It's funny how they go from a slap in the wrist for child pornography possession (bonus for getting him a contract to put his character on Jump Force while continuing his sequel series' publishing), to a witch hunt denying the very existence of a person in a project because of drug use, and some time ago, in other cases, just because an actor/seiyuu's had a photo kissing his/her girlfriend/boyfriend leaked (in the case of some seiyuus, the mere fact of a boyfriend being discovered is like a sin or whatever).

Not much about cultural differences imo, sounds like a very hypocritical leap on common sense and proper judgement of one's crimes (and "crimes").
