Hm. I hope it turns out better than the TV cut of Gundam Unicorn, which was... well, at least we got some new songs.

I wouldn't count on it though. They might throw in a couple of fresh scenes, but I feel like the only thing new they will add is just Openings and Endings. Its been a while since I watched the movies so I'll watch the TV adaption |

How much of the UC timeline do you need to have watched to understand Origin? Can you watch it if you've only seen the original series and some of the side story OVAs?

It's basically a prequel to all of UC Gundam. But if you were familiar with the original TV series, you'd be going, "Ohhh, that's where that started" as you watched. So you get bonuses for being in the know, but don't really need to be. It tells the story of everything that led up to the first Gundam show (though, really, it's a flashback arc in the Gundam: The Origin manga by Yas which is a retelling of the original series). |
