First P4 got two fighting games and rhythm game spin-off (which are both canon), then P3 and P5 got rhythm spin-offs, and Now P5 is a getting a DW style beat-em up? *sigh* where's my wallet?

Well, that was one way to put Persona 5 on the Switch. Anime hyper

I'd imagine the roster for this game is going to be relatively small with the playable game characters.

I'm a bit disappointed that it's not a port of Persona 5 for the Switch (or PC for that matter), maybe Atlus still has an exclusivity deal with Sony, but still nice to see some representation apart from that 3DS game.
Now I'm wondering, were those Warriors games like Hyrule Wars and Fire Emblem successful? It seems every franchise will have a Dynasty Warrior type game in the future, maybe Final Fantasy will be next Laughing

Considering the Royal version has more content than the original Persona 5, it would make the proposed Switch port of Persona 5 look incredibly limped. It would make more sense for the port to be the Royal version plus every other DLC stuff that gets announced on the PS4. Of course that won't happen until at least in a few years.

That's an... interesting choice. I've been seeing rumors of a fighting game floating around, but it was hard to see that without it being a crossover to fill out the roster. This wouldn't have that to deal with. Considering how much I like the Persona games, I'm sure I'll end up getting it.

Mr. Atlus i don´t feel so good... fades away. What a weird company but i have the Platinum in regular P5 and thus won´t touch any remaster or port of the game anyway. Musou games on the Vita or Switch are less egregious that actually grinding all these hours out in front of a TV but still. The game´s demo will be it for me unless they somehow make a game on the level of One Piece 3 or Attack on Titan 2. You know, a solid 7/10 instead of the usual 5/10s.

It´s still crazy that a Switch port of the PS3 game wasn´t started the second the game came out in Japan. Just look at DQ11 or even the mobile version of FFXV. Atlus will more likely port the godawful dancing games (all dat DLC, urgh) before the company´s most important release in a decade get´s considered. Someone must hate money Confused . Wake me up when we find out what´s up with SMT V.

Well, it's obvious that the main games are PS exclusive. Royal made it a point that the game took the PS4 Pro into account and spinoff games were always free to appear on other consoles. So nothing new really.

Ok alright... Did I misread the fact that this "P5S" mystery game just turned out to be a spin-off game instead of a P5 switch port? We're way past April Fools, Atlus Laughing.... Crying or Very sad

The "action" part of this "action rpg" look like they'd make for one of the worst action games released that year. Like an even worse version of Dynasty Warriors.

didn't see this coming and tbh i'm not a huge fan of this type of gameplay...wont stop me from picking it up though :p

Always figured a switch version wouldnt make much sense unless they did the same like with P3P or golden and just put the upgraded version of it on it...I will be getting this for the switch, seems like a better handheld game than console.

I don't think they have an exclusivity arrangement it's probably just system preference kind of how the last few Shin Megami Tensei games and all it's respective spinoffs (barring Persona) have all been on the DS/3DS with the 5th SMT coming to the Switch.

If I'm not mistaken the Switch port of DQ11 was already in development at the same time as the other 3 versions which all came out.

Hmm, I think I'll wait until in-depth reviews for this one comes out, and then will see if I throw money at it. Will be getting The Royal.
