They should honestly just do this with all of the Funimation partnership shows where they had the most amount of licensing. Like, can we PLEASE just have Re:Zero's dub on EITHER of the sites? Besides, it's not like Funimation owns the dubs they themselves make.

How do they not own the dubs they make in their own studios?

When a company makes a dub, part of the contract always states that the rights to the dub go to the original production company, allowing them to use it as they see fit. That’s how Funimation was able to use the Ocean dub in addition to their own when they released Escaflowne, for example.

I'm sure Crunchyroll will get the rest of the dubs eventually but it's probably going to take them awhile. They were slow at putting up all the Funimation back catalog shows as well.
