always the foreigners who don't respect anyone, they drink like morons back home but somehow thinks it's perfectly okay to replicate that in someone else's country.

Some Japanese citizens were also involved, so it could be just the atmosphere of it all.

Smart move, but unsurprising. There are many areas here in Australia designated "Dry Areas" (no drinking alcohol outside premises) during New Years celebrations for similar reasons

Never mind that most of the individuals arrested were Japanese.
Pretty much the entire US has year round bans on public drinking. There's spotty enforcement though because you have to give police a reason to suspect you. |
